5 card draw

This game is one of the basic poker games. It is very old, but it is still played all over the world. In 5 card draw poker you are trying to collect the best 5 card poker hand by changing unwanted cards in your hand to new cards from the deck.

Blinds

At the very beginning of the game two players sitting to the left of the dealer put their blind, which is a type of bet, that players are forced to put, not even looking at their cards. It is done to provide the initial pot size in the beginning. The first player to the dealer's left puts a small blind, and the next one puts a big blind.

Notice: Sometimes 5 card draw poker is played with antes instead of blinds. Ante is a fixed mandatory bet, which is put by all players before the deal.

Deal

Every player is dealt five cards in a clockwise motion and then the player sitting next to big blind starts the first betting round.

Draw

After the first betting round each player is allowed to discard any number of cards (can be all of them) from his hand and replace them with new cards. These actions are followed by the second (final) betting round, which gets started by the player sitting next to dealer.

Showdown

If more than one player left in game, players show their cards and the best hand wins. If two or more players have the same hands, they split the pot.
