Badugi

Badugi originally comes from Asia (Korea), but now it is played all over the world. It is a version of draw poker, where the low hand wins.

Badugi hands consist of four cards and their rankings are quite different from other poker versions. You count only unpaired cards of different suits in your hand. Hand with the lowest top card wins. The best hand would be 4 unpaired low cards, all of different suits. Such hands are actually called 'Badugi'. If nobody has 4 card Badugi, then winner is defined out of three card hands, if there is no — out of two card hands, etc. When there are two or more cards of the same suit in your hand you count the lowest one.

Blinds

At the very beginning of the game two players sitting to the left of the dealer put their blind, which is a type of bet, that players are forced to put, not even looking at their cards. It is done to provide the initial pot size in the beginning. The first player to the dealer's left puts a small blind, and the next one puts a big blind.

Deal

Every player is dealt four cards in a clockwise motion and then the player sitting next to big blind starts the first betting round.

First draw

After the first betting round each player is allowed to discard any number of cards (can be all of them) from his hand and replace them with new cards. These actions are followed by the second betting round, which starts from the player sitting next to dealer.

Second draw

Players change any number of cards and make their bets after that, also starting from the player sitting next to dealer.

Third draw

This is the last draw and final (fourth) betting round.

Showdown

If more than one player left in game, players show their cards and the best hand wins. If two or more players have the same hands, they split the pot.
